Peace what does it Mean

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall.

This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest.
There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect peace.
Which picture do you think won the prize?
The King chose the second picture. Do you know why?

"Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart."
"That is the real meaning of peace."
Have a peaceful Day.Amidst everything........

Words of Wisdom Of the Day # 253

If there be righteousness in the Heart, there will be Beauty in the character. If there be Beauty in the character, there will be Harmony in the Home. If there be Harmony in the Home, there will be order in the Nation. If there be order in the Nation, there will be Peace in the world.

~ Confucius

Words of Wisdom Of the Day # 252

I am the man of peace. I believe in peace. But I do not want peace at any price. I do not want the peace that you find in stone; I do not want the peace that find in the grave; but I want the peace which you find embedded in the human breast, which is exposed to the arrows of the world, but which is protected from all harm by the power of Almighty God.
~ MK Gandhi

Words of Wisdom Of the Day # 213

For everything there is a season,

And a time for every matter under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to throw away stones, And a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate,
A time for war, and a time for peace.

~Ecclesiastes, 3:1-3:8

Words of Wisdom Of the Day # 197

UN observes 2nd. October, Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, as the "International Day of Non-violence" for the first time. Lets rededicate ourselves to carry forward his messages towards creating a better world.

“Ahimsa is the highest duty. Even if we cannot practice it in full, we must try to understand its spirit and refrain as far as is humanly possible from violence.”

~ MK Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi)

Words of Wisdom Of the Day # 165

Money may be the husk of many things
but not the kernel.

It brings you food, but not appetite;
medicine but not health,
acquaintance, but not loyalty,
days of joy, but not peace or happiness.

~Henrik Ibsen
